Meet the Teacher

Kayleen began playing the violin at age 10. As part of various school orchestras, she worked on refining her skill with the help of many wonderful orchestra directors. Cindy Petty, at Bingham High School was the most influential of these. At UVSC, Kayleen studied with Christine Davis, and her technique and musicianship flourished.

Kayleen started teaching privately, Traditional Method, in the fall of 2000. In 2006, she started to research the Suzuki Method, as her 2 year old daughter was interested in learning the violin. Macy began lessons in January 2007, right before her 3rd birthday. Kayleen and Macy both fell in love with the Suzuki Method. At ISSI in the summer of 2007, Kayleen received her Book One training from Allen Lieb. Spring of 2008 continued with Jeanne Grover for Book Two training. Books 3 and 4 training were completed in Summer 2010.

There are currently 20 students in her studio and she enjoys working with each of them!
